Older Adults
Our mission is "showing concern for and enriching the quality of life of older members of our church and community"
Our Ministry with older adults is holistic focusing on their spiritual, social, intellectual, relational and physical needs and celebrating their gifts of faith, wisdom, maturity and experience. Events are for everyone - singles and couples. Our activities are open to anyone age 55 and older regardless of church memberhship.
Adventures in Learning
Adventures in Learning is a monthly luncheon and program for all adults and their friends. Adventures in Learning meets the third Friday of each month from September to May. The program is at 11 AM follower by a delicious lunch for $6.00 at noon. The programs vary. Please click on Upcoming Events for information on the next program. Some of our programs have included Rita Grimsley Johnson, well known author; Carol Reese, UT extension Ornamental Horticulture Specialist; Local artist Lendon Noe; Music of Darian and Joy Krimm; Local Estate planners;Various Health Care Professionals; and many local high schoool and college choirs such as the Jackson State Community College's choir, "The Innovations".

Outreach/Mission
Laurelwood Health Care Center Outreach Ministry
Laurelwood Health Care Center is a ministry of the senior adults of FUMC. This is a once a week Bible study, singing, and fellowship time for the residents. Our senior adults also host a Christmas party. For more information on how to become involved in this worthwhile ministry, call Pam Jaco at 422-4002.
"Home from the Hospital" Soup Ministry
This ministry provides a meal for all our church members 65 or older that have been discharged from the hospital.
